Merry Men

It is a dark time for England. The king is still away at war in the Holy Land, and no-one knows when -- or even if -- he is coming back. The tyrannical Sheriff of Nottingham and Sir Guy of Gisbourne are choking the life out of the people they are meant to be looking after.
And, amongst all this, the unthinkable has happened.
Robin Hood is dead.
Confusion reigns. Many ordinary people still think him alive, invincible, and Robin's followers would do well to keep that illusion up. But his enemies are eager to declare his fate, though they don't know where his body lies. It almost seems as though all is lost. Who now will carry on the legend?

The Outlaws' Camp Really just a little clearing in the forest, boasting the luxuries of a campfire, a rocky bluff to keep the wind off, and a little stream for washing. A hidden place and hard to find. Not their only camp, but their favourite.

Watling Street This is a rundown road which runs through Sherwood from its northern tip to Nottingham at its southern edge. It is rough, difficult and stony, and in many places an ideal spot for an ambush.

Just Plain Forest Of course, much of Sherwood is untouched, and even unseen, by human hand or eye. The twisting half-paths, low branches and protruding roots don't do much for human foot, either.

Gisbourne Even further north-west, you will find the hamlet of Gisbourne -- yes, that Gisbourne. It's a modest place, surrounded by hills and guarded by a small castle-cum-manor house.
